In an effort to make our services more accessible to individuals and families in need, Innovo Detox is happy to announce that as of August 1st, 2021, we are now in-network with Capital Blue Cross. This in-network contract with Capital BCBS will allow Innovo Detox to offer detox, withdrawal management, and medical stabilization services to any individual or family member covered by Capital Blue Cross.

Alongside Innovo Detox’s current in-network contract with Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, this new insurance contract with Capital Blue Cross will allow us to accept any Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance in-network, including anyone covered by the BCBS Federal Employee Program. Located less than two hours from Washington, D.C. and even closer to Maryland, it is important that we be able to offer services to those federal employees covered by BCBS FEP insurance.

“We are extremely excited to now be a member of the Capital Blue Cross network of providers,” explained Innovo Detox Executive Director Molly Ashcroft. “The more ability we have to give those in need access to quality detox and treatment services allows us to be a greater access to the local and regional community and help more individuals and families in need.”

This new Capital Blue Cross in-network contract for Innovo Detox could not come at a more important time. Several weeks ago, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a study demonstrating that in 2020, over 93,000 Americans lost their lives to a fatal overdose. That number does not include Americans impacted by addiction, those who had suffered a non-fatal overdose, and those meeting criteria for substance use disorder treatment. Around the same time, several media reports that during the same time span during the COVID-19 pandemic, hospitals around the country were seeing a critical rise in alcohol-related liver disease. The fear, panic, isolation, and disconnection caused by the coronavirus pandemic has increased substance use disorder and mental health conditions to a critical mass, with rising reports of alcohol use and misuse, opioid use and misuse, benzodiazepine use and misuse, and methamphetamine use and misuse at record highs.

“We know that high quality treatment is both needed and often difficult to access more many Americans,” said Sam Bierman, Innovo Detox Co-Founder and CEO. “Therefore, we hope that now being in-network with Capital Blue Cross, the BCBS Federal Employee Program, and BCBS insurance companies as a whole, will allow more individuals in crisis suffering from addiction receive the high quality, comprehensive services that Innovo Detox offers.”
