Innovo Detox is proud to announce the hiring of Zenaida Guzman as the new Clinical Supervisor at Innovo Detox in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania. Zenaida will join the leadership and clinical teams at Innovo Detox, helping to oversee and support the clinical services offered to patients from the team of therapists and counselors.

“We are excited to have Zenaida join our team here at Innovo Detox,” said Molly Ashcroft, Executive Director at Innovo Detox. “Detox is primarily considered a medical service, but we pride ourselves on making sure that all patients engage in and receive high quality clinical care during their stay at Innovo. It is vital that clinical care support the medical issues patients are going through during detox, create healthy support for patients, and help them guide them during those early days of recovery. Since she came onboard with Innovo, Zenaida has been calming influence and strong influence on our patients, and her clinical insight and experience has been a great benefit to our clinical team.”

Holding a master’s degree in psychology, Zenaida has gained valuable experience working in the fields of addiction treatment and behavioral healthcare for over 10 years. Her experience includes working in residential and inpatient settings and outpatient levels of care, as well as providing direct client care to adults suffering from addiction, as well as working with adolescents and families.

Zenaida worked in mental health as a therapist for 5 years, prior to exploring a passion for treating individuals suffering from addiction and substance use disorders. She says she noticed that many clients that sought help for mental health issues often had undiagnosed substance use disorder issues or had a history of previously using drugs and alcohol. Often, these clients with mental health issues were using substances to self-medicate, so she felt a calling to explore how she could best help these individuals realize that there is life outside of drugs and alcohol. She wants to be able to offer them hope and help them see there is a way out of addiction. Quickly, she began working in the field of drug and alcohol treatment.

When asked what is the best part of her job or what part of her job she most enjoys, Zenaida responded by saying,

“Helping to show an individual that they truly can achieve anything is very rewarding and provides a lot of purpose behind what I do. One of the aspects of my job that I enjoy the most is seeing the light turn on in someone’s eyes and the life return into them. When this happens, I begin seeing the work that I have put into helping someone else find their true self again pay off for both of us, which makes everything worth it.”
