We are pleased to announce the addition of Leah Christman, BSN, RN, to the Innovo Detox team as our facility’s new Director of Nursing. Leah comes to Innovo Detox after over a decade working in management and clinical operations in skilled nursing facilities and long-term care communities and will join the Innovo Detox leadership and medical teams in her new role.

Leah received her diploma in nursing in 2010 from the Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences and went on to receive her bachelor’s degree of Science in Nursing, Cum Laude, from Drexel University in 2014. She is a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Pennsylvania.

After school, Leah went to work for a large healthcare system working in skilled nursing facilities and long-term care communities throughout the state of Pennsylvania. She began her career as a Charge Nurse in a Pottsville, Pennsylvania location, working in direct client and patient care in a short-stay rehabilitation setting. She then moved on to be an Assistant Center Nurse Executive, working in both direct patient care as well as executing clinical operations for a 130-bed skilled nursing facility. For the last five years, Leah was the Senior Center Nurse Executive for the same organization, based out of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. In this latest role, she worked in clinical operations and oversight, compliance, quality improvement, auditing, and staff scheduling across multiple locations.

“I am extremely pleased and excited to have Leah join our team here at Innovo Detox,” said Molly Ashcroft, Innovo Detox Executive Director. “Her extensive experience in both direct patient care and as an executive level nurse will provide incredible leadership and support, both within our medical and leadership teams here at the facility. Leah’s passion and expertise will only enhance our services delivered to patients during a very challenging time in their life and in their early recovery.”

As the new Innovo Detox Director of Nursing, Leah will provide oversight and supervision of Innovo Detox’s nursing staff, as well as work with Medical Director Dr. Alok Saharan to lead the medical department. Managing the nursing department, Leah will work closely with Dr. Saharan and the other department directors to ensure that Innovo continues to provide high quality patient care. Excited to join the team at Innovo Detox after a long career in nursing in traditional medical settings, Leah said:

“I opted to make the change in my career after losing my boyfriend Tyler to opioids. I have a passion to bring more awareness to mental health and addiction.” She also added a quote that is important to her: “The stars they shine in an empty void, life is not to fear; life is to enjoy.”
