On March 16, 2023, Innovo Detox proudly celebrates our three-year anniversary! Three years ago, on March 16, 2020, we opened our doors to accept patients in need of detox that were suffering from addiction, substance use disorder, and co-occurring mental health disorders. Thursday, March 5th, 2020, was  the date we held our open house, to introduce Innovo Detox,  our program, and our staff to the community. Over 200 professionals and local members of the community came through that day, and we eagerly awaited being able to open and help those in need. However, as all will remember, early March of 2020 was a time of anxiousness, uneasy trepidation, and restless anticipation. Because between March 5th of 2020 and our opening on March 16th of 2020, the state of Pennsylvania, the entire country, and the world shutdown due to the COVID-19 global health pandemic. Certainly, this was not how we planned or foresaw the opening of Innovo Detox.

To say these first three years have been rough for everyone would be putting it lightly. Our organization, the entire behavioral healthcare field, and society at large dealt with very difficult and trying times, and truthfully the world is still dealing with the fallout and impact of the early times experienced during COVID-19. As a brand-new organization, we certainly experienced things no amount of preparation or planning could have ever made us ready for, but our staff adapted, persevered, and demonstrated an incredible amount of flexibility and professionalism. Few things make us as proud of our staff’s ability to deliver high-quality, life-saving addiction treatment patient care through the early tumultuous days of the pandemic.

Innovo Detox opened with the mission to provide the highest quality of patient care for individuals and families impacted by addiction. Offering short-term, standalone detox, withdrawal management, and medical stabilization services, Innovo was meant to be door to recovery for individuals that was a bit wider than traditional rehab, safely and comfortably detoxing patients before helping them and their loved ones figure out their next step on a treatment continuum and recovery journey. Since we opened our doors on March 16, 2020, Innovo Detox has treated over 1600 patients and worked with hundreds of professional and organizational referral sources (both to treat incoming patients and refer patients after detox for continuing care) that include residential rehabs and inpatient treatment centers, extended care, PHP, and intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment centers, sober homes and recovery houses, therapists, counselor, psychiatrists, interventionists, community organizations, harm reduction organizations, and recovery communities. We have been proud when Innovo alumni return, reaching out to bring meetings and their experience back to our facility to share with the current patient community.

Over the last three years, we have prided ourselves on communication and collaboration our team offers to patient’s families, referral sources, employers, human resources departments, employee assistance programs (EAPs), attorneys, and the criminal justice system. We believe that detox is just the first step in recovery, the acute phase of a longer addiction treatment continuum of care. However, we also know that much of the mindset of someone in active addiction is 1) to just get through withdrawals and feel better, and/or 2) thinking all they need to find sobriety or recovery is to put the drugs and alcohol down. Therefore, our primary purpose is to provide a safe, comfortable detox environment for patients, where they are cared for around the clock by medical and clinical professionals, and receive best-in-class medical, therapeutic, and recovery support. During that process, we believe it is then our role to help the patient, their loved ones, and all stakeholders concerned with their life and well-being, to understand the vital need of ongoing treatment and recovery support. We believe that by educating on addiction, explaining successful recovery outcomes most often occurs through long-term care, and working together with the patient, family members, and outside professionals, we will be able to help patients make the best decision for them and continue moving forward on a journey of treatment and recovery. Looking back, we believe that the last three years have shown success in doing just that.

If you are a former patient of Innovo Detox, the family member of a former patient, or a professional in the field of behavioral healthcare, addiction treatment, or mental health services, we hope you have experienced some of what we’ve described above. We hope you have experienced a caring, compassionate staff, a staff that above everything else, puts the needs and best interests of the patient above all else. We hope patients have felt safe, comfortable, and cared for, felt respected in our facility, been surrounded by a calming, dignified environment, and, certainly, eaten incredibly delicious food. We hope your experience with us here at Innovo Detox has been a positive one over these last three years, and we look forward to serving those in need for many more years to come. Here’s to an amazing three years, and we are grateful for all of those who have supported us. Simply we can only say, THANK YOU!
